Dr. Yunus Motala qualified in 1982 from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland.
In preparation for private practice, Dr. Motala completed a two year vocational training program for family practice and primary care run by the South African Academy of Family Practice.
In 1995 Dr. Motala commenced full time private general practice in Westville at the "Spar Complex” in Blair Atholl (Rodger Sishi) Road. In November 2021, the practice relocated to Suite 6, 159a Rodger Sishi road.
Dr. Motala aims to provide a holistic service which is evidence based and patient centered to cater for the patient's physical and mental health. To this end, patients can expect their relationship with the doctor to be a partnership, with shared decision-making.
In the event that a specialist opinion is warranted, patients will be referred timeously to the appropriate specialist.
